Poem-A-Day #250 : Re-See

Re-See

Above - the moon - endlessly talked photographed landed upon - known to the point of boredom - even its rabbit has cleaned itself from the discussion

How does the change occur - the sudden shift in views - the magic of fire leading to space travel - how does the child mind say 'FUCK THAT'S AMAZING' in its current mood

It hovers - like a balloon - jaundiced and slow to blink - it mythologizes itself - collects the news clipping and will have to go to therapy to get its hoarding under control - the dark side of the moon is covered in cats and abandoned satellites

How does one re-see for the first time - the things in your hand - in a changing light they may become strangers - your own fingers are sausages in an overcast moment

Poem-A-Day #178 : This Is

This Is

Water that is air-colored

Expanse of grass in crescendo

The business end of the moon

Poem-A-Day #140 : About the Moon

Today's poem leaps ahead a few years. I don't remember the evening that it is about, but I definitely understand the interest in the moon.

About the Moon (6/20/04)

I want to swallow the moon
Take in the reflective disk
so that my belly glows
with all of that stollen light

Odd cold heat churning my insides

The sound of breathing
is like gauze over glass
a softness
you cannot hear
It is reeds
in an old martial arts film

You can taste marsh water poured over rice

The pocked face of night
a circle of yellow against purple
of course it tastes of rice
seaweed and turtle soup

Poem-A-Day #121 : Orbit

Orbit

We orbit each other
like an ocean and a shore
each doing damage to each other

I want to kiss your face
to know that your skin is also salty
that the appearance of it is indeed the truth

These thoughts are captured by the gravity of itself
an asteroid possibly
a moon locked in tide

There are so many bodies in space
going about their business
like it's nothing

I press my body into the fabric of the air
I feel the flayed molecules
I hear the sound of your breath crashing to the pavement

Poem-A-Day #112 : Poem for Monday

Poem for Monday

Somavāra - missing miracle plant - sap flowing like rivers from stone
Day of white ageless horses rippling across the sky - the chariot - blazing - unidentifiable because of itself

Roots white and blind - a lotus filling slowly with dew

Poem-A-Day #7 : Tangle

Tangle

Everything smells like vanilla in the morning

waters came then waters went and they took things with them

The purple eclipse slid through the stop sign

driverless there were flashes of light from within like selfies being taken

Sargasso, the weed of deceit

steam in pipes is leftover atom maneuvers
