Faculty 4/23

I am in my right mind

Sure
my parts all function

Still
I am unsure of my step
my knees seem to want
to give

And my mind rattles
hums makes with the
clunking of a rusted
clock

If a sigh would ease
anything

Sure
I would sigh all day all
night

Still
it would not make my
steps solid

It is an infection deeper
than the knee

It is an infection of my
faculties of the mind of
the ground itself

I am in my right mind
when I say that it has
taken itself and turned
loose its darkest rooms

Sure
these are night terrors

Still
real enough to be paper
cuts on the soles of feet
